As soon as the waivers have been released, we will post a link, or a copy, of the waiver for your convenience.
Thanks.

I am one of many concerned bicyclist. The published BMX hours are horrendous, and we hope to work with the skate community to change this before the park opens. A few of us have attended Dekalb County Park’s planning meetings over the last 4 weeks, with no progress being made by talking to officials in Dekalb County Parks.
Although we have qualms with the concept of separating bikes and everyone else as a whole, the most pressing matter is to be able to gain access to the park at all. Most bikers can not make the week day hours (3-5pm on Tuesday and Thursday), which leaves 2 crowded hours a week for us.
Although I just came on the scene recently, it seems that skaters had a big hand in bringing the park to fruition. For that I give you guys mad props. How that the park is about to open, I hope that we can we work together to broaden the hours that bikes are allowed in the park.
Thanks - Mark

I have a question about scooters. I know that scooters bring in the little kids that just wanna ride around on the ramps, but there are a few people that I skate with who ride scooters, and not like the little kid kind. They can actually do tricks and its the same as skating to them, i talked to another guy who owned another skatepark and he said its fine, he likes my friends on the scooters and he also said they let scooters into almost all the other parks in the area such as waller. where we go right now, and i would like to be able to go to brookrun and have all my other buddies come too rather than driving 30 minutes out to waller. The other guy suggested maybe you could set an age limit for scooters like 13 or 14? can any of you guys help me out?

Ian, and all scooter riders:
I suggest just showing up and making your case. If you can skate (scoot), then there should be no problem.
Good luck.

Yeah to who ever also runs the website and says scooters shouldnt be allowed in the park, let me send you a link of my friends so I can atleast shed a little light for you.

…..So, is it gonna cost a quarter for bikes to ride?
If we only get about 8.5% of the time that the park is open, how about we only pay about 8.5% of the price???

Is it true that Bmx riders cant use pegs in the park?

if u take a friend thats never been there before can they just print of a waiver and get there parents to sign it at home..?>
August 2, 2007 at 2:33 am
Jimmy - it is my understanding that a parent must be present, with the underage skater, at the park, for waiver signing.
That being said, you can download and fill it out ahead of time …but the signing needs to be done at the park with the parent present.

I have a 6 year old son, that could use a few lesson on skateboarding? Do you offer lessons? Thanks!
August 20, 2007 at 6:03 pm
Cliff:
I am not aware of lessons at the skate park yet; however, as a suggestion, I would first introduce your son (or daughter) to skateboarding at Pinckneyville Park in Norcross.
It’s a concrete park as well, but designed with the beginner in mind …and it’s free.
Once your son (or daughter) has this place wired, they will be ready for Brook Run.
Good luck.

Parents must be present at the park for signature if you are under 18.
Otherwise, have at it.

My son uses Heelys and a Fusion scooter. Where can he skate with these? Are there skate parks which allow these in the Atlanta area.

Is a notirized waiver sufficent or not. I am letting my son come with a friend and I have it printed and notirized. I need to know if this is good enough to get him in. He will be driving at least an hour and a half so I have to know this will get him in. Thanks, his mom, Ann
